Trailblazers is a fun, outdoor-based program with the goals of increasing physical activity, inspiring connection to nature throughout the seasons, and developing outdoor and leadership skills. The program will run rain or shine!

This fall, we are offering Trailblazers for grades 4-6 on Thursday afternoons, from October 23 - December 11 (excluding December 4 - PD Day). The program leaders will meet participants at West Northfield Elementary School at dismissal. We will walk to the forested area surrounding the school or other green spaces to explore the natural world.

Every week, we will play active games, eat a healthy snack, do a focus activity (outdoor skill or nature exploration), and have dirt time (this is what we call free play). The key components will be consistent but each day will be different! Student dismissal/pickup will be at the school parking lot at 4:30 PM.

THEME CHANGE!! November is now “Maritime Legends” - Ahoy, young explorers! This camp invites campers to dive into a day filled with seafaring fun and coastal lore. Campers will create their own treasure maps and imagine the world beyond the waves. Together, we’ll share tales of Mahone Bay’s legendary islands and invite campers to bring their own stories to life.

Campers will be divided into smaller groups based on their ages. Pre-primary and primary students and/or 5-year-olds turning 6 by the end of 2025 are welcome to register.

Like our summer camps, we will spend the whole day outside, rain or shine! Dress for the weather, wear comfortable clothes and sturdy shoes, and bring snacks, lunch, and a water bottle. More details on where to arrive, what to bring, and what to expect will be provided to registered participants. In the case of severe weather, we do have access to inside space at the Mahone Bay Centre.

Please register early if you plan on attending. We need at least 6 participants registered by Wednesday, November 19 for the program to go ahead. If we need to cancel, registered participants will be refunded in full.
